Assessments will be only necessary if there are enough players to field two teams at a particualr grade level. For example, 7/8th grade (U14/15) teams.
ASSESSMENT DATES: Players are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions. This will provide players the best opportunity to impress evaluators.
Date, time, and location TBD.
Overview:
Boulder Valley Girls Lacrosse will organize assessments for our top 7th/ 8th grade spring teams. These teams will be led by coaches with significant lacrosse coaching and playing experience.
These teams will be known as BVGL 7th/8th Gold. & Silver.
BVGL Gold teams are expected to play in the Gold division of the Colorado Girls Lacrosse Association (CGLA). Divisions are Gold (advanced) and Silver (intermediate/developmental). No cuts will be made.
Gold and Silver levels begin at the U12 age division.
Team Formation:
Teams will be determined on the basis of assessments, and input from current and previous coaches. Multiple evaluators will consider athletic ability, overall commitment to lacrosse and the team, work ethic, and positive attitude when selecting players.
Every player will be given an equal opportunity to participate on a BVGL Gold team but positions must be earned and never granted. There are no guarantees of playing time on Gold teams.
BVGL’s Commitment to ALL Girl Lacrosse Player
We are committed to finding a place for every girl who wishes to play lacrosse, regardless of skill level or experience—and placing them on the appropriate level team.
We will provide EVERY player in our program with a high level of positive coaching and instruction.
Our coaches will always be open and approachable. We encourage players, not parents, to seek out advice and instruction from coaches in order to increase their skill and playing time.
